Established in Tarragona in 2013, NUA arquitectures has diversified its activity in different fields and categories, focusing simultaneously on the project designs from the urban perspective to the design of details. The efforts and works carried out over the last years have brought it recognition as one of Spain’s rising young studios in the last three editions of the Arquia/próxima programme (2014, 2016 and 2018), including an honourable mention in the last edition.
In 2016, it was one of the seven studios chosen to represent Catalonia at the Venice International Biennale of Architecture, and the studio’s project designs have recently been recognised at the European Union Award for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award, the FAD Awards (2018), the 14th Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urban Design (2018) and the XI Alejandro de la Sota Biennial Awards (2019, 2017, 2015, 2013), including the extraordinary award of the past 20 years of its edition in the rehabilitation category (1997-2017).
